The ARO® Aluminum Single Dose Hopper System solves some of the biggest limitations of the stock Niche Zero workflow by helping reduce retention, enabling hot-starting and manual slow feeding, controlling popcorning, and giving you the flexibility to grind anything from a single espresso dose to a large batch of filter coffee.
The included silicone bellows sends a burst of air through the grinder after grinding to help clear retained grounds. That means more coffee makes it into your cup, with less old coffee left behind to mix with your next dose.
The included adapter also replaces the Niche Zero's stock clear lid and keeps the lid interlock engaged. Instead of having to load your beans before starting the grinder, you can start the Niche first and add your beans while the burrs are already spinning. This makes hot-starting easy and also gives you the option to manually slow-feed beans for greater control over how they enter the burrs.
For everyday espresso, use the silicone bellows directly on the adapter for a compact setup with up to 30g of capacity. Need more room? Add the precision-machined aluminum hopper for up to 90g of total capacity, making it easy to grind large filter doses, a full pot of coffee, or multiple espresso doses without repeatedly reloading the grinder.

Two Configurations, One System
Single Dose + Low-Profile Mode: Up to 30g
Place the silicone bellows directly onto the adapter for everyday single dosing. This keeps the grinder compact while still giving you the benefits of bellows-assisted retention clearing, hot-starting, and slow feeding.
High-Capacity Mode with Hopper: Up to 90g
Add the aluminum hopper when you need more capacity. With room for up to 90g of coffee, you can grind larger pour-over or batch-brew doses, a full pot of coffee, or several espresso doses without stopping to reload.
Switching between the two configurations takes only seconds, and the adapter can remain installed on the grinder.
Installation Instructions
Be sure to check the product images above for a visual installation guide.
- Remove the Stock Lid: Remove the single screw securing the Niche Zero's clear plastic lid and remove the lid.
- Install the Adapter: Position the included adapter in place of the stock lid.
- Secure the Adapter: Reinstall and tighten the screw to secure the adapter to the grinder.
- Choose Your Configuration: Place the silicone bellows directly onto the adapter for the low-profile configuration, or install the aluminum hopper and place the bellows on top.
Once installed, the adapter can remain on the grinder when switching between configurations.
Usage Instructions
Standard Start
- Weigh your desired dose.
- Add your beans to the adapter or aluminum hopper.
- Place the silicone bellows on top.
- Start the grinder and allow the beans to grind normally.
- Once the beans have finished grinding, pump the bellows several times while the grinder is still running to help purge retained grounds.
For maximum airflow, use the palm of your hand to compress the entire bellows rather than pressing only the center.
Hot Start
- Weigh your desired dose.
- Start the Niche Zero with the hopper empty.
- Once the burrs are running, pour your beans into the adapter or aluminum hopper.
- Allow the dose to finish grinding.
- Install the bellows and pump it several times while the grinder is still running to help clear retained grounds.
Slow Feed
- Start the grinder with the hopper empty.
- Gradually pour your beans into the hopper at your desired feed rate.
- Allow the remaining beans to finish grinding.
- Use the bellows to help purge retained grounds before switching the grinder off.
Compatibility
Compatible with the Niche Zero only. Not compatible with the Niche Duo. This system is designed specifically around the lid mounting point and geometry of the Niche Zero. If you are unsure which Niche grinder you have, please contact us before ordering.

Care and Maintenance
For everyday cleaning, brush away loose coffee grounds and wipe the components with a soft cloth.
For deeper cleaning, remove the aluminum hopper and silicone bellows and hand wash them with lukewarm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow all components to dry completely before reinstalling.
Wipe the adapter clean as needed.
Not dishwasher safe.
Important Safety Note
The included adapter keeps the Niche Zero's lid interlock engaged and therefore allows the grinder to operate without the stock lid closed. This changes the grinder's original safety-interlock behavior. Keep fingers, utensils, tools, and other objects away from the grinder opening whenever the grinder is connected to power or running.
