Engineered for Breville/Sage Barista Express, Pro, Touch, and Impress integrated grinders, our single dose hopper eliminates coffee bean retention and stale grounds. Featuring a hopper crafted from solid aluminum, an integrated anti-popcorn baffle, and a robust silicone bellows, it ensures the freshest grind, every time. Say goodbye to old, stale grounds and savor the full flavor and aroma of freshly ground espresso.

Key Features

  • Solid Aluminum Hopper: Crafted from solid, aerospace-grade aluminum and finished with a sleek matte black anodize, this hopper is built to last. Its stunning appearance complements its robust construction, effortlessly withstanding daily use and ensuring a lifetime of reliability.
  • Durable Silicone Bellows: Made from 100% food-grade silicone, the bellows features a smooth matte black finish that resists dust buildup. Designed for high-volume airflow, it effectively purges your grinder of retained grounds offering tens of thousands of pumps without wear. Plus, it doubles as a convenient dosing cup, making it easy to measure and weigh your beans!
  • Integrated Anti-Popcorn Baffle: Seamlessly integrated into the hopper, the baffle prevents beans from bouncing around, enhancing grind consistency and accelerating your workflow.
  • Zero Retention O-Ring and Outer Burr Seal: Featuring a precision O-ring embedded in the hopper and an additional outer burr seal, these thoughtful details ensure optimal airflow through your grinder, eliminating coffee bean retention and stale grounds making each grind as perfect as the last.
  • Effortless Installation and Easy Operation: Utilizes an innovative lock ring design for effortless installation. Simply drop the lock ring into the grinder inlet, add the hopper, and rotate clockwise to securely lock everything in place and engage the grinder safety trigger. Seamlessly integrates with Breville/Sage Barista Express, Pro, Touch, Express Impress, and Touch Impress espresso machines. Don't miss out on the ultimate upgrade for your espresso machine!

Installation Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Grinder: Remove the original hopper and clean out all old beans and grounds. We recommend using a vacuum cleaner to ensure the grinder inlet is completely free of debris. Note: Do not use water, as it can rust the grinder burrs.
  2. Insert the Outer Burr Seal: Place the seal around the outer burr and ensure the "UP" side is visible. Align the triangular tab with the wire on the outer burr and press it in until flush with the grinder inlet.
  3. Insert the Lock Ring: Remove the lock ring from the hopper, align the tabs with the slots in your grinder inlet, and drop the lock ring on top of the seal. Press down firmly to fully seat the lock ring so that the flexible arms are aligned with the holes in the side of the grinder inlet.
  4. Attach the Hopper: Align the hopper tabs with the locking ring slots and place the hopper into the lock ring. Press down, and twist clockwise until the "ARO Espresso" logo is at the 6 o'clock or 12 o'clock position and the grinder safety trigger engages. This may require some force as the O-ring creates a seal on the grinder inlet. You can use the aluminum arms inside of the hopper that hold the anti-popcorn baffle for better grip.

To remove the hopper, simply twist it counterclockwise until it releases from the orange lock ring. Then remove the orange ring and seal. You may need to pull back the arms on the lock ring to release them. Setting your grind size to the finest setting will also assist with removing the hopper as it lowers the outer burr and relieves any pressure on the lock ring.

Please send us a message if you need any assistance with installation or removal!

Usage Instructions

  1. Load the Beans: Weigh out your preferred dose and pour your beans into the hopper. Tip: the silicone bellows can be used for easy measurement and transfer of your beans!
  2. Set the Bellows: Place the silicone bellows on top of the hopper.
  3. Grind: Press the grinder trigger to start grinding.
  4. Purge the Grinder: Once grinding is complete, pump the silicone bellows to purge the grinder. This works best while the grinder is spinning; restart the grinder if needed or adjust the grind time to ensure all beans are ground and there is extra time to purge the grinder. Don't be afraid to give it some aggressive pumps and be sure to use the palm of your hand to compress the entire bellows.
  5. Enjoy: Savor the aroma and taste of the freshest cup of espresso.

Care and Maintenance

For daily maintenance, simply brush off any loose grounds and/or wipe clean with a cloth.

When it's time for a more thorough cleaning, remove the bellows, hopper, lock ring, and seal from your machine. These components may be hand washed with lukewarm water and soap. Be sure to rinse well, and dry immediately. Not dishwasher safe.

Other Useful Info

The single dose hopper can comfortably hold up to 60 grams of beans. If you need to grind more than this, simply reload the hopper or add more beans as they are being ground.

For a more sleek look, the hopper can be installed so that the "ARO Espresso" logo is hidden. When you initially insert the hopper into the lock ring, ensure the logo is facing toward the left. When you twist the hopper to lock it, the logo will face the 12 o'clock position and be hidden.

If you have low cabinets, this hopper is the ideal solution. Without the bellows, it sits 1.75" (45mm) lower than the stock hopper making it possible to store the machine under low cabinets. See the images for more details on total height with the single dose hopper and bellows installed.

Looking for a more affordable solution? We also sell a version of this single dose hopper that is made from plastic. Functionally, both the aluminum and plastic versions are identical. You can find the plastic version here.

The lock ring is additively manufactured. Keep away from extreme heat.

Mmmm its okay

It does look good but it is a small pump
So you would have to vacuum every other time

Almost perfect! A great improvement on the OEM hopper.

The good: Perfect fit, easy installation, the plastic ring is pure genius, looks great, solid construction, fits under my cabinets, easy to use.
The not-quite-perfect: I am still getting a bit of retention. If I vacuum out all the grounds, and put 18 grams in, no matter how much I pump the bellows during and after grinding, a few tenths of a gram seem to get left behind. Now, this is far better than the stock hopper which accumulated big chunks of beans and could deliver anywhere from 17 to 19g from 18g in, but as I said, those few tenths of grams of retention seem to build up and get released a few grinds later.
